We provide guitar and bass maintenance, repair and modification services in French's Forest (Sydney Northern Beaches). Services include fast and economical restringing of your instruments, setups and repairs for acoustic and electric guitars and basses. Fret dress, re-fret, new nuts (bone, TUSQ and graphite) and acoustic saddles, pickup replacement or installation (electric and acoustic), re-wire electric guitars and basses, and quality finish repairs.

Restring 6 string Acoustic or Electric Guitar or Bass: $40
Full inspection, fingerboard clean and condition, fret polish, restring*. If I find something wrong on inspection, I'll contact you for discussion and agreement on any additional repairs or adjustments required.
Restring 12 string Acoustic/Electric Guitar: $60
Full inspection, fingerboard clean and condition, fret polish, restring*. If I find something wrong on inspection, I'll contact you for discussion and agreement on any additional repairs or adjustments required.
New Instrument Setup Check: $30
Just bought a new guitar or bass? In most cases, new instruments are not set up particularly well. We will conduct a 15 minute while you wait service to check action, relief and intonation. If your instrument needs a setup the $30 fee is deducted from our setup charge (below).
Setup Acoustic / Electric Guitar / Bass: $105
All restring services*, plus check and adjust neck relief/truss rod, saddle and nut slots. Check and correct intonation and pickup height. Check and correct tremolo bridge setup, check and tighten all jacks, tuners, knobs etc. Spot fret level and recrown. Clean and detail instrument. If I find something else wrong during this work, I'll contact you for discussion and agreement on any additional repairs or adjustments required prior to starting work.
Other Services
Labour for other services is $95 per hour. We can do custom bone, Tusq and graphite nuts, custom bone acoustic saddles, partial or full re-frets, acoustic guitar neck re-sets, acoustic and electric pickup installation, diagnosing electric guitar problems, completely re-wiring with vintage wire if that's what you want..., finish repairs and hardware installation (tuning machines, bridges etc.). We can do an assessment on your instrument and discuss with you what you need done, providing an estimate on the spot - $40 minimum bench fee (credited to any work that's subsequently agreed with you).
*All prices are exclusive of strings - you can supply your own, or we can supply strings if you wish - we hold stock from Martin, Ernie Ball, D'Addario, Thomastik and John Pearse amongst others. We don't make a margin on strings - we'll supply them at cost, which is sometimes a little better than retail.
